I go to several churches now and recently I made a slightly shocking or surprising discovery: many Christians who had gone to church for a very long time have a rather shallow knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
It wasn’t just my dad’s previous church, it was at a Baptist church I went to and a non-denominational church as well. I thought that for people who grew up in church should had their foundation from Sunday school, but that’s not what I am getting. I had people asking very elementary questions during Bible study.
These are lovely people, good-hearted, good-natured people but I am concerned if things start to rock, they might struggle to hold on to the Bible because they are not knowledgeable about it.
It was surprising to me because these guys basically grew up in church like me.
